The Quickest, Easiest and Cheapest (FREE) Way to the Top of Google

(you don’t even need a website)

If you’ve been “googling” your site or the search terms that your customers would be using to find you, you’ve likely noticed that more and more Google is displaying listings with little pink or blue balloons beside them.  These are called Google Places pages (formerly known as Google Maps and Google Local).

For most small business owners this is great news. This is space owned by Google that they are willing to give you for free to advertise your business. You just need to claim your space and add some basic information.

Of course, I make this sound easy but when dealing with Google nothing is as easy as it seems.  There is a process involved.

However, as annoying as it may be this MUST BE DONE!!  Google owns these places so it only makes sense that they will push them to the top of their search results (along with the paid ads, of course).  Eventually, my guess will be that Google will “monetize” these pages but until then, you should be taking advantage of the situation.
